Revision limit clause

A contract provision capping the number of revision rounds included in a project's price, with additional rounds billed separately.

Example

A design contract includes 2 rounds of revisions in the base price; a client requesting a 4th round of significant changes to already-approved work triggers a change order for the additional rounds.

Why it matters for agencies

A revision limit clause is one of the most common places scope creep enters unnoticed, because "just one more small tweak" rarely feels like a new request — even though, without a cap, unlimited free revisions are functionally unlimited free scope.
