Scope verification

An internal, often technical check that completed work matches the documented requirements and acceptance criteria — typically done by the delivery team before work is presented to the client for validation and sign-off.

Example

Before sending a build to the client for review, a QA lead checks it against the acceptance criteria documented in the SOW, flagging any gaps internally before the client ever sees the deliverable.

Why it matters for agencies

Catching a scope mismatch during internal verification — before the client sees it — is far cheaper than catching it during client validation, both in terms of rework and in terms of the awkward conversation about who's responsible for the gap.
