Scope validation
The process of formally confirming, with the client, that delivered work matches the agreed scope — typically happening at project milestones or completion, distinct from scope verification's more technical, internal check.
The process of formally confirming, with the client, that delivered work matches the agreed scope — typically happening at project milestones or completion, distinct from scope verification's more technical, internal check.
Example
At project close, an agency walks the client through the deliverables list against the original SOW line by line, getting explicit confirmation each item was delivered as scoped, before requesting final sign-off.
Why it matters for agencies
Scope validation is what makes project sign-off meaningful rather than a formality — a client who has actually reviewed delivered work against the original scope statement is far less likely to raise a "this wasn't included" dispute weeks later.
