Project sign-off

The client's final, formal approval that an entire project is complete and matches what was agreed — the project-level counterpart to sign-off on individual deliverables or milestones.

The client's final, formal approval that an entire project is complete and matches what was agreed — the project-level counterpart to sign-off on individual deliverables or milestones.

Example

After final revisions are approved, the client signs a one-page project sign-off confirming the engagement is complete and all deliverables match the SOW, closing the door on future "I thought this was included" claims.

Why it matters for agencies

Project sign-off is the clearest possible line in the sand for what's included in the original engagement versus what would be new, billable work if requested afterward. Skipping it leaves that line fuzzy, which is exactly the ambiguity late-arriving scope requests exploit.
